माँ कालरात्रि ने युद्ध भूमि में कदम रखा और रक्तबीज पर आक्रमण किया। जैसे ही रक्तबीज का खून जमीन पर गिरने लगा, माँ कालरात्रि ने अपनी विशाल जीभ से रक्त की हर बूंद को चूस लिया, जिससे और नए असुरों का जन्म नहीं हो सका। इस प्रकार उन्होंने रक्तबीज का अंत कर दिया और तीनों लोकों को उसके आतंक से मुक्त किया।
